Should you use a chemical or physical exfoliator?
There are a couple of different types of exfoliation that you need to know about. The one you use usually depends on your skincare routine, your skin type and your own preference.
A physical exfoliating product is something that uses a physical action to remove dead skin cells. This could be manual scrubbing, rubbing or using a product that physically removes the surface of the skin - this includes scrubs, exfoliating cloths and exfoliating tools. The Whipped Butter Polish is a gentle facial exfoliator that nourishes your skin.
A chemical exfoliating product doesn’t use physical particles to scrub your skin. Instead, chemical exfoliants use skin-friendly chemicals to remove the “glue” that holds dead skin cells together so that they can be sloughed away.
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid and malic acid, along with beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), like salicylic acid, are some of the more common gentle chemical exfoliants that are used. Retinoids are also used for exfoliation too, but these can sometimes irritate the skin and make it sensitive.

Scoop a small amount of the Whipped Butter Polish out
using the bamboo scoop and work in small circles over the surface of your face, neck and décolleté. Allow a few moments for butters to absorb and wipe away residue with the Jane Scrivner mitt, dampened in warm
water.

Mango butter is rich in phytosterol and omega to fortify skin cell walls and balance skin. It also contains fatty acids to replenish skin barrier function as well as to tone and firm the skin.
JOJOBA BUTTER
Omega and phytosterol rich for skin repair, strength & condition, organic jojoba butter is also rich in nutrients including vitamin B complex, zinc, copper, selenium and vitamin E to nourish the skin. It works to regulate sebum production, making oily skin less oily and dry skin less
dry too.
CUCUMBER SEED OIL
Rich in Omega 3, Linoleic Acid and Vitamin E, cucumber seed oil replenishes and protects your skin’s natural barrier. Improves firmness and elasticity. It also soothes skin whilst improving firmness and elasticity while nourishing and protecting your skin cells.
ORGANIC CEYLON CINNAMON
Working on blemishes, rich in antioxidants to protect skin, organic Ceylon cinnamon helps to clear away the appearance of scar marks, spots and blemishes while toning and plumping.
BAMBOO POWDER

This is a beautiful product: deliciously smelling and soflty nougatine (what it reminds me of!) to use, it is very gentle - no scratching or scraping - and leaves my face feeling super cleansed, and primed but not stripped or tight. Goes well beyond the cheaper but harsh exfoliating products I have used previously.
Just received a sample of the butter polish, used it after the balm cleanser and exfoliate toner. Very pleasantly surprised with the results. Used a sample of the Brightening glowing serum, whilst too early to tell, my skin looked very smooth, polished and hydrated. I will be using these alongside my Darphin skincare products. What a beautiful combo of skincare names to use !!! :)) x
I have been using the whipped butter polish now for over a month. I use once per week and all I can say is wow. The texture a fluffy mousse texture and very smooth. There is no scratchy feeling on the skin, it just glides well like butter. The results are amazing soft, smooth glowing healthy skin. Top tip leave on for 5- 10 mins before removing your skin will thank you.
This mousse-like polish is superb! It's gentle yet powerful at removing dead skin. It has no drying effects, just leaves you skin soft and moisturised. After using acids to improve texture and brighten - which often leaves my skin dry and irritated - this product is a joy. Will be purchasing forever.
I love everything about this product, the texture, how it feels on my skin, working it in and after taking it off. It also has a very pleasant natural smell. It’s good enough to eat!
